ABOUT THERAPY

You are God’s very good idea.

He created you to have life abundantly. Not an abundant schedule, or abundant stuff, or abundant money, youth, fame, balance, cleanliness, organization, or even achievements. He wants you to have abundant life in Him because that’s when you are your best self. What He has for you is eternal and beautiful.

The problem is that you don’t seem to think you are living your best life now.

That’s why you landed on my website, and that’s where I come in.

During our first few counseling sessions, we will define what the problem is. Then, I will help you unpack your vision for what you want your life to look like.

Over the next number of sessions, we will collaborate to help you make significant strides to living your best life. Through a mixture of different counseling modalities like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), we will untangle life’s knots and smooth out life’s snags.

This isn’t a hurried process, but I do have a sense of urgency to help you take your next best step. My heart is to support you in your dark or confusing place and help you find the power to live the life you were created for.

And I’ll be totally upfront with you: my goal is to get fired.

I’ll always be here for you if you want to come back. But when you decide our counseling time is done, you will leave my office after your last appointment feeling empowered and with a vision for what you need to do next to live your best life now.

You won’t become dependent on me for finding your next best step because you will have acquired the tools necessary to help you live your best, most God-honoring life now.

ABOUT ME

You and I were created for such a time as this. Now is the time to search God’s heart to discover what it’s breaking for, step up, lean in, and ask God to allow us to be part of His redemption in the world.

Now is the time relentlessly to wage peace, to come to His table and break the bread, drink the wine, and let Him fill those broken parts.

Now is the time to live our best life, all while practicing healthy boundaries.

Many moons ago I had a deeply fulfilling job I loved as an English language arts teacher at a middle school in Los Angeles. Beyond the literacy component and watching my students’ reactions to what happens at the end of Of Mice and Men, my favorite part was connecting with my female students and mentoring them as they began their transition from childhood to adulthood.

Many girls weigh their self-worth on grades, acceptance of their peers, or attention from boys. I worked to instill in them a healthy love of achievement, a healthy self-concept, a pride in their community, and a positive perspective on life.

I moved to St. Louis from Los Angeles when my husband accepted a call to pastor a church in the area. Instead of going back to the classroom, I decided to devote my life to my new calling: helping women successfully navigate their transitions, from middle or high school, college, adulthood, marriage, motherhood, or empty-nesting.

Too often we get stuck in our transitions and our mental health suffers because of it.

Simply put, we aren’t sure where to go or the next step to take. It seems like everyone else has it figured out, and we don’t know where to turn.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and ordained pastor, my heart longs to help people step more fully into the life God has for them. To provide my clients with the best possible service, I earned my Masters in Pastoral Counseling with an emphasis in church ministry and discipleship from Liberty University, my Master’s in Counseling from Adams State University, am a Nationally Certified Counselor, and trained in EMDR.

When I’m not at work, I lead The Mom Co (formerly known as MOPS) at my church; speak to different women’s groups on topics like anxiety, depression, and faith; and raise three kids with my husband, Andrew.
