How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long.

With whom do you work?

My specialty is helping girls and women successfully navigate their transition. However, I do SYMBIS, or Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts, premarital counseling as well as marriage counseling.

What does a typical session of therapy look like?

Each person has different goals for therapy, so it will be different depending on your needs.

Our time meeting together can be short-term or longer-term, depending on your needs and goals for either specific issues or more ingrained patterns and personal development.

Therapy is a process of learning, understanding, and developing awareness. Often, we will uncover your Myers Briggs or DISC personality profile to help identify underlying motivations and triggers, as well as strengths and areas of growth.

Will you give me homework?

Sometimes. If it will help you in taking your next best step, I will encourage you to do certain activities or watch for certain thought/behavior patterns.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance, but I accept most FSA and HSA debit cards.

Will you browbeat me with the Bible?

That would be awkward for both of us.

Should I wear waterproof mascara?

This depends on how dangerously you like to live.

Does anyone cry in front of you?

Yes. Sometimes I cry, too. Crying is one of my spiritual gifts.
